Member Profiles

 

 

You are invited to submit a personal profile to be posted here on our club website.

This is a great way for our members to get to know each other and feel at home in the club.

These profiles will be located in the Members Only area of the
website. They will not be accessible to the general public.

Required info:

·       YuleLog ID

·       real first name

 

Optional info:

·       real last name

·       age, birthday, anniversary date

·       email address

·       IM contact info

·       location (city, state)

 

Bio:

·       Write as little or as much as you want: No restrictions on the amount of text. 2 sentences or 20 pages - knock yourself out.

·       I will not edit for grammar or spelling, so use your spell-checker and re-read before you submit.

·       Submit to webmaster@yuleloggers.com via email. Text in the body of email is fine, so are attachments of Microsoft Word, WordPad, or NotePad files.

 

Suggested topics:

·       your collection

·       your family

·       pets

·       occupation

·       how you started collecting

·       your experience with this club or KOCC (are you a charter member, past officer, committee member, etc)

·       your other hobbies and interests besides collecting

 

Off limits topics:

·       "the big three" - politics, sex, religion. (Example: If you'd like to mention that you're involved in campaigning, or active in your church, that's fine. If you write that a particular candidate is the way to hell and needs to get some religion... well, I'll edit that out.)

·       Selling/sales - Want to mention that you're an Avon representative? Fine. Want to post a price list? Nope. Same goes for any other similar venture. These profiles are meant to be personal, not commercial, not free advertising space.

 

Pictures: 

·       If you choose to, you can send up to 3 electronic pictures to  be included on your profile - of you, family, friends, your pets, your collection, etc.

·       Don't have electronic pics? Email me and I will give you my home address for snail mail. I'll scan and post as time allows.

·       You can send links to pictures you already have posted elsewhere online if you prefer, or if you would like to have more than 3 images for your profile.

 

Links:

·       I will link out to other sites if you provide the URLs. You can include the link in your text, in parenthesis.

·       Duplicate URLs will only be linked once, even if it is mentioned several times in your text.

·       See the above off-limit topics for other restrictions. If you happen to have ornaments etc. for sale on your personal home page, that's not a problem, but I will not link directly to your sale pages, or product lists, only to your main index. Same for secondary sellers - no links to your ornament listings or special sales - only to your main index page.
